Henry Boubel

August 5, 1924 — October 2, 2020

Henry Hector Boubel was called by the Lord to his eternal resting place in Heaven on Friday, October 02, 2020 at the age of 96.

He was born in Laredo, Texas on August 05, 1924 to Henry William Boubel and Consuelo Flores Boubel.

Henry (Dad – Grandpa – Great-Grandpa) was the proud father to his three children: Henry Anthony, Howard Glenn, and Hector William Boubel as well as a devoted husband to the late Thelma Cedillo Boubel for sixty-one years.

His tremendous strength and resilient spirit came from his belief in the Lord, strong ethical principles, playful sense of humor, generous heart, and boundless care for loved ones.

He was a proud WWII veteran serving with the United States Naval Service (Navy) as a Coxswain First Class.  He joined the Naval Service on September 11, 1942 and served tours of duty on both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.  In fact, he narrowly escaped with his life during an attack in the Atlantic that sunk his ship.  His final days in the Navy were proudly served in the Pacific where he participated in the invasions of several islands, and his proudest moment was to be anchored alongside the USS Missouri as Japan signed their surrender in 1945.

In August 1945, he was honorably discharged.  During his tour, he received the Asiatic Pacific Theater of Operations Medal, the Liberation of the Philippines Medal, the American Theater of Operations Medal, the World War II Victory and was a Shellback.

He was immensely proud to have served his country in its time of need.

His family and friends will always be thankful for the gift that was his life.  He was an incredible role model for both his children and grandchildren.  Throughout his fulfilled life, he was always grateful for the many blessings that the Lord bestowed onto him.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Boubel is preceded in death by his father Henry William Boubel and mother Consuelo Flores Boubel, daughter Jacqueline Grace Boubel, and his wife Thelma Cedillo Boubel.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons: Henry A. (Dorothy) Boubel, Howard G. (Yazmin) Boubel, Hector W. (Jennifer) Boubel as well as loving grandchildren: Lisa Boubel, Stephanie (Richard) Christley, Kevin (Kimberly) Boubel, Ashley Nicole Boubel, Christopher Boubel, Michael Boubel, and Omara Ortiz, great-grandson Tristen Cue-Boubel, sister-in-law Maria (Red) Oralia Millican, as well as nephews and nieces.
