H. G. Pool, 83, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Thursday, December 28, 2023.
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of H.G. Pool, a dedicated Border Patrol Agent and beloved member of the community. A true hero who served his country with honor and distinction for over 30 years. H.G. Pool dedicated the majority of his life to protecting and safeguarding our nation's borders. His unwavering commitment to duty and vigilance made him an invaluable asset to the Border Patrol, where he rose through the ranks and eventually became an assistant chief. With steadfast determination, he worked tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of our borders.
Before joining the Border Patrol, H.G. Pool served his country in the United States Air Force for four years. His military service shaped him into the brave and disciplined individual he was known to be.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, H.G. Pool was a loving husband, father, and friend. He deeply cherished his family and devoted his free time to creating lasting memories with them. His compassionate nature and generous spirit touched the lives of all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
To honor the memory of H.G. Pool, funeral services and ceremonies will be held to celebrate his remarkable life and mourn his devastating loss. Family, friends, and members of the Border Patrol community are invited to pay their respects and bid farewell to this exceptional man.
He was preceded in death by his son H. G. Pool, III.; his parents, Horace Greeley, Sr. and Belma Pool; his siblings, Jan Looper, and Donny Pool.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Ina A. Pool; children, James Tod (Laura) Pool, Barry (Tricia) Pool, Federico (Bertha) Paez, Jorge Paez, Debora Paez, Leticia (Clay) Parker, Gerardo (Anne) Paez, and Roberto (Claire) Paez; grandchildren, Jamie, Jessica, Sawyer, Colton, Federico, III., Franco, Christopher, Austin, Nicholas, Michael, Carolyn, Griffin, and Cristina; great-grandchildren, Sofia, Charlie, and Gwenny; siblings, Patricia (Larry) Rypkema, and Nancy (Don) Parker; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Friday morning, January 12, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 11 a.m.
Military Honors will be held by The United States Air Force, The Border Patrol Honor Guard, and The Laredo Veterans Honor Guard.
A private cremation was held.
