Emblem

Guillermo Ramos, 82, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

Guillermo was born and raised in Laredo, Texas, where he built the foundation of the values he carried throughout his life. He attended Martin High School and graduated in 1964. During his time there, he was a proud member of the well-known “La Banda del Amino,” the Martin High School band — a reflection of his spirit, pride, and connection to his community.

He answered the call to serve his country during the Vietnam War, joining the United States Army as part of the 581st Transportation Company (Light Truck), 4th U.S. Army. His service was marked with honor and distinction, earning the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Sharpshooter Rifle Medal. These honors reflect not just his skill, but his discipline, courage, and commitment.

After his military service, Guillermo continued to build a life rooted in hard work and perseverance. He attended Texas A&I University and went on to serve the people of Texas through his work with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. He later continued his career with the federal government as an Immigration and Naturalization Inspector, where he rose to retire as a GS-12 Supervisor — a testament to his leadership, integrity, and dedication.

At the heart of Guillermo’s life was love. He was married to the love of his life, Guadalupe Ramos, for 60 years. Together, they built a beautiful family — one rooted in faith, strength, and unity. Their marriage was a true example of commitment, partnership, and enduring love.

Beyond his accomplishments, Guillermo will be remembered most for the man he was to those who knew and loved him. He was an amazing son, a devoted brother, a loving husband, a proud father, and a cherished grandfather. He believed deeply that God and family came first, and he lived that belief every single day.

He was a hardworking man — persistent, dependable, and determined. He carried the responsibility of providing for his family with pride and never wavered in his commitment to ensuring they were cared for.

Guillermo’s life is a legacy of service, sacrifice, and unwavering love. The lessons he leaves behind — of faith, dedication, and family — will continue to guide all who knew him.

Rest in peace, Guillermo Ramos.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andres Ramos and Santos Rodulfo and his siblings, Concepcion Arredondo and Manuel Ramos.
