Gerardo Andres "Jerry" Rocha

Sep 4, 1977 — Jun 3, 2026

Jerry Rocha, beloved, charismatic, loving, coolest nephew, Godson, brother, cousin, Godfather, and tío, peacefully entered eternal rest on June 3, 2026, in Ladera Ranch, California. We are in terrible grief over having lost his light, yet we are comforted that Jerry has reunited with his mother, Anna; his father, David Briseno; his grandparents, Belia and Hilario Rocha; Tía Rosie, Tío Hilario “Bito” Rocha; and his cousins, Missy and Debbie.

Jerry Rocha was one of the most brutally honest comedians in the industry today. His tell-it-like-it-is, no-holds-barred comedy grabbed the attention of anyone who has heard him. A Dallas, Texas native, who performed all over the country. With his ability to find humor in every subject, including himself, Jerry proved that he was truly one of the funniest comics out there.

Jerry spread his roots to Los Angeles, where he called the Comedy and Magic Club and the Hollywood Improv his new homes. He was a semi-finalist on the seventh season of NBC’s Last Comic Standing, appeared in NUVO’s Stand Up and Deliver, was featured on SiTV, and killed at the Latino Laugh Festival. He released a top-selling comedy album on iTunes titled Take That, Real Dad, and even had his own half-hour documentary that appeared on the Travel Channel. In the fall of 2014, Jerry made his Comedy Central debut on Gabriel Iglesias Presents Stand-Up Revolution. Gabriel helped produce Jerry’s hour-long stand-up special, “The Gentleman,” which was released in 2015.

Eternal rest grant unto Jerry, O Lord. And may perpetual light shine upon him.

“Cancer may kill me, but it’s not going to defeat me because I’m going to be happy every day.” – Jerry Rocha

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved fiancée, Andrea Lassen; his aunts and uncles, Sandra and Laura Rocha, Adriana (Abel) Hart, Leticia (Joe) Alardin, Lamar (Javier) Montalvo, and Gloria Briseno Woods; his cousins, Priscilla (Don) Aime, Jennifer Ramos, Michael Velasquez, Jacquelyn Ramos, Kevin Velasquez, and Joel Alardin; and his nieces and nephews, Carlos Villanueva, Sadie Gamero, Jaelynn Lopez, Aubrey Rivas, Hillary Aime, Millie Rivas, Abigail Velasquez, Liam Aime, and Miles Martinez.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Rd., where a Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.
