Eusebio, Chevo, Castilleja passed away peacefully on October 25, 2019 at the age of 78.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Eusebio and Esther Castilleja; sisters: Maria Esther and Diana; brother: Javier; father and mother in law: Manuel and Herminia Perez; brother and sister-in-law Efrain and Alma Laurel.
Chevo was a graduate of Martin High School class of 1959. He was part of the 1959 Martin Tigers basketball team who represented Laredo in the state semifinalist team under Coach Bill Batey.
He proudly served his country in the USAF as a jet engine mechanic. He was stationed at Laredo and San Antonio, Texas, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Santa Clara, California, Mountain Home, Idaho, Honolulu, Hawaii, Chicago, Illinois, and Vietnam. He was honorably discharged as a Technical Sergeant.
Chevo and his family returned to Laredo after retiring from the United States Postal Service. He enjoyed spending time at his ranch with his family and friends, traveling with his wife Clarissa and working on his daily crossword puzzle.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years of marriage Clarissa Perez Castilleja, his children: Gabriel (Sandra), Ricardo (Mary) and Marco (Stephanie) Castilleja; his grandchildren: Gabriel (Anna Mae), Guillermo, Raquel, Tito (Carolina), Ricardo, Marc Anthony, Robert Carlos, Manuel Perez and Kaylee Castilleja; his great grandchildren: Darren, Garret, Jayden, Alexis, Emilio and Alyanna; siblings Daniel (Marta), Maria Esther (Clark Mayhew); brother in law Arturo Vazquez, and sister in law Martina; aunt Lilia Ballesteros, uncle David Contreras; brother’s and sister’s-in-law: Sylvia (Joaquin +) Arreguin, Manuel (Lourdes) Perez, Minerva (Eliseo +) Perez, Lucila (Rodolfo +) Barrera, and Gerardo Perez; his good friends: Rodolfo (Rosita) Alvarez, Mario (Cynthia) Garcia, Carlos (Doris) Velasquez, Carlos (Dinorah) Martinez, Pablo (Edna) Valle, Eddie (Josie) Lozano, Wayo (Patricia) Rendon, Estela (Eddie +) Avalos, Tony (Tea) Moctezuma, Manuel and the Safari group, as well as many other family members and friends.

The family will receive condolences on Monday, October 28, 2019 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral & Cremation Services; Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m.
A funeral service will be held in the funeral chapel on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 10 a.m.
Procession will form and follow to the Laredo City Cemetery Veteran’s Section for a Full Military Honor Interment provided by the US Air Force Laughlin Air Force Base Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren: Gabriel, Guillermo, Tito, Marc Anthony, Ricardo, Robert Carlos, and Darren Castilleja.
