Eufemia M. Martinez

September 3, 1943 — February 10, 2026

Laredo, Texas

Eufemia Magaña Martinez, age 82, was born on September 3, 1943, and was welcomed into eternal rest after a life beautifully lived in faith, love, and service to others.

Eufemia was a talented and master seamstress, a dedicated stay-at-home mother, and above all, a devoted wife and deeply faithful Catholic woman. Her life revolved around her family and her faith. She spent much of her time at church and took great pride in raising her children and grandchildren in a Catholic home, always placing God first in all that she did.

Known for her kindness, loving heart, and gentle spirit, Eufemia was always happy, positive, and hopeful. She had a special ability to see the bright side of every situation and to respond with patience, understanding, and grace. She was slow to anger, quick to forgive, and led others through quiet example, truth, and unwavering faith.

Eufemia’s legacy is one of love, devotion, and trust in God. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her example will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her beloved husband, and welcomed into the loving arms of our Lord.

Eufemia was preceded in death by her parents, Alfonso and Antonia Magaña and her beloved husband, Silverio Amador Martinez Sr., with whom she shared a devoted and faithful marriage. Together they built a strong, loving family rooted in Catholic values.

She is survived by her four children: Elsa (Luis) Dominguez, Norma (Jaime) Gonzalez, Alma (Carlos) Garza, and Silverio Amador (Amely) Martinez Jr.; as well as her cherished grandchildren: Luis Dominguez, David Dominguez, Alyssa Gonzalez, Rebecca Martinez, Andrea (Carlos) Gutierrez, Amanda Gonzalez, Christina Dominguez, Abigail Martinez, Alejandro Juarez, Corina Garza, Ana Martinez, Amely Juarez, Alexa Gonzalez, Carlos Garza Jr., and Silverio Andres Martinez. As the eldest of eleven siblings, Eufemia was a guiding presence in her family and is survived by all of her brothers and sisters: Lorenzo (Ana) Magaña, Alejandra (Fausto†) Villela, Jose Mercedes Magaña, Josefina (Juan) Flores, Adriana (Luis) Deleon, Vicente (Kathy) Magaña, Alfonso (Irene) Magaña, Esther (Dr. Arturo) Limon, Gabriella (Polo) Dominguez, Veronica (Glen) Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
