Esperanza Zardeneta

Esperanza Gabrillo Zardeneta, 100, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, August 24, 2018 at the Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, TX.

From her birth in Laredo, on April 6, 1918 to her death on Friday, she was beloved by many and thought of as a caring and strong person. She was born to Zoilo and Otila Gabrillo and was one of two girls with six brothers. She was married to Jose L. Zardeneta for 70 years before his passing in July 2012.

She was preceded in death by her son Luiz L. Zardeneta, daughter Elsa Z. Dutton, granddaughter Teresa D. Cramer, and six brothers; Raymond, Raul, Johnny, Jose, Henrym and Nicanor Gabrillo.

Left to cherish her memory is her sister; Irene Martinez, four great- grandchildren; Ryan, Erika, Kevin and Abby Cramer, sisters-in-law; Amelia Gabrillo and Ofelia Gabrillo as well as by nieces and nephews.

Esperanza will be greatly missed and remembered as a loving and joyful person.

The family will be receiving condolences on Tuesday evening, August 28, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday morning, August 29, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. Everyone who will be attending mass is encouraged to please meet at church 15 minutes prior.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Ildefonzo Flores and the many caring nurses at Laredo Medical Center for the kindness and comfort that was given to Esperanza during her final days.
