It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Esmeralda D. Dimas, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, who left this world on September 4, 2026, at the age of 63. She was born on May 4, 1963, and lived a life full of love, joy, and unwavering support for her family and community.
Esmeralda was a proud graduate of Martin High School, class of 1982. On July 16, 1988, she married the love of her life, Carlos Dimas Sr., and together they built a household filled with warmth and affection. A dedicated professional, Esmeralda worked with compassion and commitment at Mercy Hospital and Doctors Hospital, where she ultimately retired after many years of devoted service. Up until her passing, she contributed her talents to Dr. Rafati, always striving to make a difference in the lives of those around her.
As a mother, Esmeralda's love knew no bounds. She affectionately referred to her son, Carlos G. Dimas Jr., as "Hermoso" and "Sunshine," always encouraging him and celebrating his successes. She possessed a contagious laughter that brought joy to all who were fortunate enough to be in her presence. Esmeralda had a passion for the arts, often attending plays and enjoying movies, and she fiercely supported her favorite sports teams, including the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Astros, Dallas Cowboys, and Detroit Lions.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Margarita Salinas and Jesus Diaz, and her brother-in-law, Ramiro Paredes.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 38 years of marriage, Carlos Gerardo Dimas Sr.; her children, Brittney (E.J.) Saavedra, Carlos Gerardo “Charlie” Dimas Jr., and Karla Alexis Dimas (Wesley Roy Wheeler); her grandchildren, Isabelle “Isa” Maria Saavedra and Dominic “Nico” Cristo Saavedra; her siblings, Jesus Alejandro “Nano” (Clemen) Diaz, Adriana Alicia “Licha” Diaz, Jaime Alberto “Beto” Marina Diaz, Javier “Toity” Armando Diaz, and Tanya Michelle Diaz, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
