It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Erson Flores, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, who departed this world on July 26, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on March 14, 1940, Erson lived a life rich with love, laughter, and devotion, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

A devoted husband to his beloved wife, Janie, Erson exemplified the essence of love and loyalty throughout their cherished years together. He was not only a wonderful father, but also a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather, whose life was a tapestry woven with the threads of family, friendship, and heartfelt generosity.

Erson’s unwavering work ethic was matched only by his profound love for the great outdoors. He found solace in hunting and fishing, and his hands, skilled in carpentry, crafted not just beautiful pieces but also treasured memories in the homes he helped build. An ardent BBQ enthusiast, he took delight in sharing hearty meals with family and friends, always ensuring laughter followed the aroma of a well-cooked feast.

His love for gardening reflected his nurturing spirit, as he cultivated not just plants, but also joy and connection within his family and community. Erson delighted in the majestic splendor of animal shows and was an enthusiastic fan of the Dallas Cowboys, celebrating each touchdown with a passionate cheer. His days were filled with baseball, as he played city-wide, relishing the camaraderie and spirit of the game.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Obed and Paula Flores; siblings, Obed Flores, Moises Flores, Josue Flores, Emeterio Flores, and Elia Flores.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 64 years of marriage, Juanita Valdez Flores; children, Norma E. Flores, Criselda (Jonathan) Butcher, Lucia Isabel (John) Flores, and Marisa Dalia Flores; grandchildren, Michelle A. (Joshua) Edwards, Aaron Flores, and Marcos (Amanda) Flores; great-grandchildren, Sophia Flores, Lucas Rafael Flores, and Liam Edwards; siblings, Eustolia Romero, Yolanda Bernal, and Paula Ashby as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Saturday morning, August 2, 2025 from 9 am to 10:30 a.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 10 a.m. followed by a Chapel Service at 10:30a.m.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday morning, August 2, 2025 departing at 11 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd. to Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Aaron Flores, Marcos Flores, Angel Flores, Giovanni Flores, Rodolfo Bernal Jr., Luis Valdez, Jonathan Butcher, and Johnny Romero.
