Enrique Coronado

January 8, 1936 — May 16, 2024

Laredo, Texas

Enrique Coronado, 88, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Thursday, May 16, 2024.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Enrique Coronado & Isabel Martinez Coronado; his siblings: Antonio Coronado, Amado Coronado, Francisco Coronado and Ruben Navarro.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 57 years of marriage, Estella S. Coronado along with his children:  Elaine (Eduardo) Ibarra, Enrique (Cynthia) Coronado III, Edna (Octavio III) Garza and Estella Yvette (Roberto Jr.) Martinez. His grandchildren include:  Eduardo A. Ibarra II, Emilio J. Ibarra, Carys A. Coronado, Enrique Coronado IV, Octavio M. Garza IV, Orlando M. Garza, Karyme A. Martinez, Kiara A. Martinez and Roberto Martinez III. His siblings include: Guadalupe C. Ramirez, Socorro C. Martinez, Maria Luisa C. Zapata and Agustin Coronado; his beloved nieces include: Tomy, Claudia, Ana Luisa, Lucia, Georgina and Martha as well as other nieces, nephews, relatives and numerous friends.

Enrique was born in Venado, San Luis Potosi and moved to Chicago in 1956. In 1964, he met the love of his life, Estella, and married her in 1966 and in 1970 moved to Laredo.

Enrique was extremely proud of his four children and the families they raised alongside their spouses. His heart was glad to know that his kids had inherited his morals and convictions, especially their steadfast faith in the Lord.

Enrique, also known as “Tito” to his beloved grandchildren, simply adored spending quality time with his nine grandchildren.   A master on the grill, the family could never get enough of his carnes asadas and he would gladly make them as often as possible simply for the smiles of gratitude it brought to his family. He was a man of few words but significant action. Enrique was a self-taught handyman, a skill set he would proudly impart with his loved ones every chance he got. He was also the ‘go-to’ person for any school project that required any assistance which ultimately meant quality time with his grandkids.

Enrique was also a man of integrity with a strong devotion to God. His strong faith was evident as he adored the Eucharist at the Adoration Chapel at Divine Mercy Catholic Church and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on a daily basis. He was an unselfish soul always placing the needs of others before himself.

Additionally, Enrique and his wife were avid travelers and were fortunate enough to have visited numerous countries in Europe, South America and Asia and his favorite places were Brazil, Vatican City and the Holy Land. His voyage has now taken him to the kingdom of heaven where we know there will be a placard with his name on it waiting to welcome his radiant smile that was loved by everyone.
