EMILIO C. SOLIS
August 14, 1942 – May 26, 2025
Emilio C. Solis, 82, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Monday, May 26, 2025.
Emilio was a humble and kind-hearted man, deeply rooted in the values he learned growing up on his father’s farm. He dedicated much of his life to hard work, beginning as a pipeline welder and rising through the ranks to become a respected Chief Inspector on many projects. Despite his professional success, his true passion remained in farming and ranching- especially planting “calabaza”, a cherished tradition passed down from his beloved father. His quiet strength, warm spirit, and love for the land will be remembered dearly by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Candelario and Maria de Jesus Solis; wife, Velma L. Solis; siblings, Sylvia Hinojosa, Beatrice Herrera, and Anita Doncaster.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Lynda Yvonne Cavazos, PhD, Joel Lee (Carmen) Solis, MD, Christina Lorraine (Edgar) Garcia, Ana Laura (Tomas Contreras) Solis, and Emilio Candelario Solis Jr; grandchildren, Anthony Edward Cavazos, Alisha Isabel Solis, Jacqueline Garcia, Edgar (Azenett Ventura) Garcia Jr., Adrian Garcia, Isabella Garcia, Christopher Rafael Lerma, Carolina Mia Contreras, and Tomas Contreras Jr., great-grandchild, Ariana Garcia; siblings, Rodolfo (Hilda) Solis, Ofelia (Raul†) Davila, Magdalena (Ben†) Wendell, Maria (Robert) Ouwendijk, Patricia (Antonio) Villanueva, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Thursday evening, May 29, 2025 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.
