EDNA GARCIA JONES

Edna Garcia Jones, 66, was welcomed into our Lord’s heavenly kingdom on February 9, 2021.
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who devoted her life to service and living in the light of Christ. Edna was a pillar of strength who guided her family with endless love. Her energetic spirit was infectious as she would quickly touch the hearts of all who met her. A devoted community member she spent countless days giving back to the community of Laredo with her “can – do” attitude. Her light shined brightly upon all she touched. Edna will be forever cherished and missed, but the legacy of who she was will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She was preceded in passing by her beloved parents, Eloy and Bonnie L. Garcia; and her nephew, Antonio Flores, Jr.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 5 years of marriage, Charles Lawson Jones; beloved children, Valerie Marie Garza, Vanessa Marie (Saul F.) Lara, Edna “Nita” (Ryan) Garcia-Knightly, Mari Alina Garcia Jones, and Scott (Amanda) Morrow; and her adored grandchildren, Alysse Victoria Lara, Victor Eloy Casso, Carolina Casso, Saul F. Lara, Jr., Joaquin Sebastian Lara, Mark Anthony Cabrerra, August Alexander Knightly, Ashley Morrow, and Skyler Morrow. She is further survived by her siblings, Betty (Antonio) Flores, Eloy Garcia, Jr., Elsa Bonnie (Frank) Jasso, Efrain (Brenda) Garcia, and Edgar (Tricia) Garcia; nieces and nephews, Cristina Flores, Tori (William) Price, Eugene (Wendy) Garcia, Shelly Tiffee, Aileen (Ryan) Fortune, and Briana (Stephen) Wadenpfuhl; and great-nieces and nephews, Antonio Flores Guevara, Austin Garcia, J.T. Garcia, Grayson Tiffee, Avery Marie Fortune, and Luke Ryan Fortune.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 12 noon to 3p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Prayer Service will commence at 1 p.m.
