It is with deep sorrow and profound remembrance that we announce the passing of Dora Elsa Santos, beloved daughter, sister, cherished aunt, and a source of joy in the lives of all who knew her. Born on September 27, 1955, Dora embraced life with an open heart, a love of music and a spirit full of laughter until her departure from this world on June 4,2025.
Dora’s life was a testament to hard work and unwavering devotion as she worked from a young age to help provide for her beloved siblings. Dora was not just an aunt; she was the favorite aunt of everyone, a title she wore with pride and grace. With her love of celebration, infectious humor and kind disposition, she always ensured that love was the centerpiece of every family gathering. Dora had an innate talent for making each family member feel special and valued, gifting them with thoughtful presents on their birthdays, Christmas, or any occasion that called for celebration. Her warmth and attentiveness created cherished memories, each more precious than the last.
Dora had a unique ability to see the beauty in life's simplest moments and shared her passion for shopping with those she loved, bringing home treasures that would become tokens of affection and remembrance. Her devotion to the Virgen de Guadalupe was a testament to her deep faith and unwavering spirit, guiding her through life's ups and downs with grace and resilience.
She was preceded in death by her parents Amparo Santos and Genaro Santos, brother Rodolfo Santos and nephew Roberto Santos.
Left to cherish her memory are her siblings Genaro (Gertrudes) Santos, Jr., Jose Angel (Rosa) Santos, Amparo (Hector) Ceron, Venancio Santos, Rosa Idalia (Francisco Javier) Sanchez, Sr. and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by other loving relatives and friends. Dora’s loved ones are eternally grateful to her sister, Rosa I. Sanchez and her husband, Francisco Javier Sanchez, Sr. for their selfless dedication and loving care of Dora during the past years.
The family will be receiving condolences on Sunday evening, June 8, 2025, from 5pm to 9pm at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.
A private cremation will take place at a later date.
