Diana L. Molina

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Diana Lopez Molina, born on January 30, 1970, who departed from this world on August 20, 2026. Diana was a remarkable individual whose kindness and dependability made her a treasured daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, and friend. She was a beacon of kindness and love in the lives of all who knew her. Her unwavering faith and spiritual dedication inspired many, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to cross her path. Her time on earth was well spent, and she was always a thoughtful, caring, and generous soul.

Diana was a proud graduate of Nixon High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin. She then furthered her educational career and earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Texas San Antonio. She took immense pride in her alma maters and cherished the many lifelong friendships she developed during her time at these educational institutions.

Diana served her loving community, dedicating 33 years of her life as a social worker for the Laredo Independent School District. She consistently went above and beyond to ensure her students and their families were deeply cared for and always worked tirelessly to help them secure the vital resources and support they needed. Diana also worked alongside many colleagues and school staff who became a second family to her.

Diana was a member of the New Creation Family Church. Her profound faith in Jesus Christ guided her actions, anchored her faith, and beautifully touched the lives of everyone around her, and she would stop at nothing to ensure the very best for those she loved.

In her free time, Diana enjoyed and embraced life’s simple pleasures. She loved the beauty of the great outdoors. Whether she was traveling with her family, fishing, or spending peaceful days at the ranch, Diana soaked it all in and treasured the natural wonders. Her giving spirit never fell short, as she would always bring her delicious side dish of potato salad during the holiday celebration gatherings.

She was also an enthusiastic sports fan who found great joy and happiness in cheering for her favorite teams, the Houston Astros and the Texas Longhorns. Diana would anticipate and be excited to catch their games, whether on television or in person.

Diana’s legacy of love, faith, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruben Lopez and Maria Hilda Lopez, and her sister, Nelda Marie Lopez.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 31 years, Rosendo “Benny” Molina; her children, Bernardo “Bo” Molina, Miguel “Mikey” Molina, and Alejandro Javier “AJ” Molina; her siblings, Ruben (Roberta) Lopez, David (Laura) Lopez, Norma (Miguel†) Lopez-Medina, Oscar (Adriana) Lopez, and Mari (Rudy) Lopez Alvarado; her in-laws, Dr. Rodolfo “Rudy” Molina, Estela (Ricardo) Ybañez, Geraldine “Gina” (Alfredo) Perez, Gerardo “Kiko” Molina, Clarissa (Alfredo) Perez, and Erasto (Melissa) Treviño; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Friday evening, August 28, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Rd., where a Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m.

A private cremation will be held at a later date.

The family extends their gratitude to: Dr. Eduardo Miranda and staff; Dr. Vincent Valero and staff (M.D. Anderson, Houston); Doctors Hospital Intensive Care Unit nurses and staff; Pastor Roger and Pastor Cindy Sherwood for all their endless prayers and support; and numerous close friends.
