Diana Rodriguez Alexander, was welcomed into the kingdom of heaven on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at the age of 82.
Diana, a Laredo native, attended Ursuline Academy where she graduated in 1959. Keen on becoming an educator and to help teach and shape young minds, she continued her education at Incarnate Word College in San Antonio, Texas; where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Education in May of 1963. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. Diana, affectionately called “Nana”, was a devoted and very proud Aggie wife, mother, and grandmother. Her beautiful memory will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in passing by: her beloved husband, Patrick H. Alexander, Sr.; her son, Patrick H. Alexander, Jr.; her parents, Francisco and Lilia Rodriguez, Jr.; and her brother, Francisco B. Rodriguez, III.
Left to cherish her memory are: her daughter, Monica Alexander (Robert) Gonzalez; her grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Gabriela Cristina Alexander, Annalee Alexander (Emmanuel Guajardo), Karina Marie Alexander, Victoria Carolina Gonzalez, and Robert Ray Gonzalez, Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Cristina Benavides Alexander; her sister, Sara Rodriguez Garza-Gongora; and her sister-in-law, Leticia Rodriguez. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Wednesday morning, July 19, 2023 from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd. The Funeral Procession will depart at 10:45 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to St. Patrick Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Robert Gonzalez, Jr., Jesus Romero, Emmanuel Guajardo, Joe Palacios, Gilbert Rios, and Henry Mejia.
The Alexander family would like to extend their most heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers, Elena Garcia and Monica Martinez for the excellent care and attention they provided for her during her time of need.
