Mrs. Delia P. Valdez, 87, entered into eternal rest the afternoon of
Saturday, May 12, 2018.
Delia was devoted to God and to her family. She worked in Retail until her retirement. She then took over taking care of her family,
and anyone who came through her front door was considered family as well. She would always have food, coffee
and conversations ready at any time for anyone.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Rito & Rita Palacios; husband, Vicente Valdez; brothers: Reynaldo Palacios, Vidal (Maria) Palacios,
Jose Angel Palacios and Roberto Israel Palacios; sister: Noemi Mattheis and Alicia Palacios; nephew, Jose Angel Palacios Jr.;
in-laws: Victor Tijerina, Rafael Vallejo and Miguel Garza.
Surviving her are her daughters: Maria Isabel (Alejandro) Gutierrez and Maria Rita (Jesus) Hernandez; grandchildren: Jesus Hernandez, Jr., Alejandro Isaac Gutierrez and Jorge Vicente Gutierrez; siblings: Tomas (Elfida) Palacios, Rito (Gloria) Palacios, Maria de la Luz Tijerina,
Guadalupe Gomez, Carmen Palacios, Herminia Vallejo and Raquel Garza; in-laws: Graciela Palacios and LaVern Mattheis;
as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
The family will gather on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Joe Jackson North Funeral & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.,
from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
Funeral procession will depart the funeral chapel at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 to San Luis Rey Catholic Church,
for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 8:30 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow to the Laredo City Cemetery.
