Delia Beatriz Guzman, 91, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.

Ms. Guzman was preceded in death by her parents, Raul J. Guzman, Sr., and Victoria G. Guzman, brothers Raul J. Guzman, Jr., Carlos E. Guzman, and Sergio F. Guzman, and nephew Robert T. Andrews.

 

Ms. Guzman was a native of Laredo and attended local schools and Laredo College as well as courses on Law Enforcement and other subjects related to her employment.  She was employed by US Customs Service for a number of years until her retirement.

 

She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Altar Society, Member of Mercy Hospital Auxiliary, Member of The Catholic Daughter of America and other clubs and associations.  A very gracious and loving person, she doted on her nieces and nephews for whom she had special love and affection.

 

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Nancy G. Mayers, sisters-in-law Adelina Guzman, Maria Josefina Guzman, and nieces and nephews Alonso Andrews, Nancy (Kevin) Regan and Edward Andrews, Delia (Justo) Gonzalez, Raul (Mary Beth) Guzman, Laura (Kevin) Knutson, Mary Jo (Greg) Gamble, Carlos (Michelle) Guzman, Yvonne Guzman, and Alfonso E. (Anadina) Guzman, numerous grand nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

 

The family will be receiving condolences on Tuesday morning, October 17, 2023, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez.; where a Chapel Service will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.  The funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 11:00 a.m.

 

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

 

The pallbearers will be:  Alonso Andrews, Edward Andrews, Carlos E. Guzman, Alfonso E. Guzman, Edward James Andrews, and Jonathan Taylor Andrews.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church or the charity of your choice.
