Carolina Covington

Carolina Paredes Covington, 81, entered into eternal rest on Thursday March 22, 2018. Carolina was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. She graduated from Martin High School in 1955. Carolina married the love of her life, Joe R. Covington Sr., with whom she traveled the world as a United States Air Force wife. They shared 57 strong and faithful years of marriage. She made many contributions to her community over the course of her life and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Enrique Paredes; mother, Herminia Paredes; brothers, Pedro, Daniel, Alberto and Alejandro Paredes; and devoted husband Joe Roland Covington Sr.

Left to cherish her memory are: her loving children, Anna Michel (Matthew) Reichle, Sylvia V. Covington-Davila, and Joe Roland (Rosa V.) Covington, Jr.; grandchildren, Matthew Reichle, Jr., Justin (Esraa) Reichle, Cynthia V. (Alex) Maldonado, Sylvia Alysha (Albino III) Saldaña, Ernesto (Gloria Herrera) Davila, Jr., Dana A. Davila (Xavier) Charles, Rhodale V. Covington, Rhonda V. Covington, Wesley Joseph Reichle, and Randilyn V. Covington; 12 great-grandchildren; as well as by her sister, Dolores Cadena; and brother, Enrique Paredes.

The family will be receiving condolences on Friday March 23, 2018 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday morning, March 24, 2018; at San Vicente de Paul Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial to commence at 9 a.m. Funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 8:20 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Veteran’s Section of the Laredo City Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
