Brigida R. Alfaro

Brigida R. Alfaro, 94, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Monday, August 10, 2026.

Affectionately known as “Wita”, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother loved life. She especially showed this through her cooking, gardening, and watching sports. She was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and remembered names like Roger Staubach. She could cook wonderful meals with the simplest of ingredients. Many Sundays involved going to mass, cooking a scrumptious meal, and watching the Dallas Cowboys. Her tamales were so good that they were once shipped to Germany. She also had a talent for gardening and would often pray her rosary in her garden. Despite not having a strong formal education, our mom was a strong believer in education. Together with our father, she made sure that all four sons got a Catholic education and that all four sons got a university degree. Wita loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loved to see them play sports. We were blessed to have her in our lives.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Adelfo Juan Alfaro, and her parents, Luis Rosales and Bartola Galicia-Rosales, as well as numerous brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Pedro F. (Elva) Alfaro, Tito H. (Esther) Alfaro, Juan G. Alfaro, and Fernando R. (Claudine) Alfaro; her six grandchildren, Tracie (Arturo) Ruiz, Lydia Rose (Joshua) Guerrero, Sean Thor Alfaro, Shelby Storm Alfaro, Shania Sky Alfaro, and Shalen Rain Alfaro; her five great-grandchildren, Adam Guerrero, Benjamin Guerrero, Rafael L. Conde, Eziquiel Conde, and Arturo Ruiz, Jr.; her sisters, Virginia Rosales-Alarcon and Isabela Rosales-Hernandez; as well as numerous other loving relatives and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Thursday evening, August 20, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Rd., where a Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday morning, August 21, 2026, departing at 8:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to Christ the King Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Tito H. Alfaro, Juan G. Alfaro, Fernando R. Alfaro, Shalen Rain Alfaro, Rafael Leopoldo Conde, and Eziquiel Jayden Conde.

Honorary Pallbearer will be: Pedro F. Alfaro.

The family extends their gratitude to Father Juan Mercado and the Salesian Sisters of Mary Help of Christians School.
