ARACELI P. TIJERINA

January 19, 1949- November 28, 2023

Araceli P. Tijerina, 74, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. Mrs. Tijerina was an elementary teacher for 25 years at JC Martin, Jr. Elementary School. Mrs. Tijerina returned as a substitute teacher from 2005-2008. She was a strong advocate in the educational field specializing as a resource teacher with the LISD school district.

She was preceded in death by her parents Filemon and Rosaura Peña, Jr.

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved of 52 years of marriage, Mario Tijerina; children, Marco Gabriel (Minerva Rosales-Tijerina) Tijerina, Michael Anthony (Dalila) Tijerina, and Tracy Joanne (Galen) Hanson; grandchildren, Michael Dean Tijerina, Greenlee Hanson, and Gavin Hanson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives, Peña family, Motz family, Tijerina family and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Sunday evening, December 3, 2023 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday morning, December 4, 2023 departing at 8:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
