Anita Solis Doncaster

Anita Solis Doncaster, 96, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Sunday, March 17, 2024.

Her life was one full of hardwork, laughter, joy and adventures.  Anita began her working career at the M&S Clinic and worked there for 16 years.   She then went on to begin what became her passion which was her banking career with Union National Bank in 1961 as a collections clerk when she was 34 years of age.  After 3 months at the bank she was promoted to bank teller, making her the first woman teller in the Laredo area something she was very proud of. Three years later because of her hardwork and great service to her customers she was promoted to Teller supervisor.  She continued her career with Union National Bank for 35 years and then continued two more years with Norwest Bank from which she decided to retire.   And just like that after only a few weeks of being retired she joined Falcon International Bank to work for just a couple of years. This became another milestone for her as she dedicated 22 more years to her deeply loved customers and retired at the age of 92.

Ms. Doncaster always led by example and advised young bankers to continue their education, be committed to what they are doing, respect others and above all always work hard.

Not only did Anita love to work, she also loved to travel and gamble. She traveled all over Mexico while working and for pleasure. She also got to travel to Europe, Greece, Cozumel, Bahamas, Hawaii,  Punta Cana,  Las Vegas, Kickapoo amongst many other trips.  She always said you had to live to the fullest which she did and that she never wanted to die.

She was one of the most caring woman always worrying about all holidays and birthdays and going out to buy all family members a little something for all occasions. She lived a glorious life and never let anything get in her way of what she wanted.  She was a beautiful person inside and out who always brightened up every room she was in who will be truly missed.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, Eric Gordon Doncaster Jr.; her parents, Maria De Jesus Solis and Candelario Solis; her sisters, Beatriz S. Herrera and Sylvia S. Hinojosa.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Eric Gordon (Bertha) Doncaster III and Roberta A. (David) Saenz; grandchildren, Eric Gordon (Beatriz) Doncaster IV, Loretta Lee (Carlos) Chapa, Audrey Deedee Doncaster (Librado) Mendoza, Christie A. Saenz, David A. (Yajaira) Saenz Jr., Michael A.
