Alicia Mendoza, 98, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

A dedicated wife and mother, Alicia was a beacon of strength and compassion, she carries forward the legacy of devotion and love that she so profoundly exemplified. A devoted Catholic, Alicia embraced her faith, finding solace and strength in the church, and inspiring those around her to cultivate a spirit of kindness and generosity.

Alicia’s life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to family. She was not only a dedicated wife and mother but also a cherished sister and grandmother, always ready to lend a helping hand to her loved ones. She created a haven of warmth, where stories were shared and cherished, and love flourished in abundance. Her legacy is not only marked by the roles she played, but also by the indelible impact she left on every soul she encountered.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Francisco Mendoza; son, Juan Francisco Mendoza; siblings, Pablo Martinez, Jose Angel Martinez, Rogelio Martinez, Guadalupe Chapa, Carlota Martinez, and Maria Garcia.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Francisco (Graciela) Mendoza Jr., Roberto (Elvia) Mendoza, Magdalena (Rodolfo) Peña, Alejandro (Ana Laura) Mendoza, Maria Alicia (Alejandro) Vera, and Gerardo (Grizelda) Mendoza; 23 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Martha (Horacio †) Valdez as well as numerous other relatives, and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Thursday evening, July 24, 2025 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday morning, July 25, 2025 departing at  9:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to St. Patrick Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
