ALBERTO SUAREZ, JR.
November 04, 1959 – May 23, 2020
Alberto Suarez, Jr., 60, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 23, 2020. He was born and raised in Laredo, TX. Albert was a warrior as he fought many battles, but he did it for his family- his most valued treasure. Having his family together brought him true happiness. He was a die-hard Steelers fan and always dressed to represent. He was a hard worker his entire life, but spent any extra time creating precious memories with his loved ones. He had a voice of an angel and would often serenade those he loved while playing his guitar. Throughout his life, he formed many wonderful friendships. He will be missed by so many, since it was difficult not love him.
While growing up, Albert’s biggest delight was raising livestock and being a member of J.W. Nixon’s FFA. As an adult, his largest desire was passing on the love of cattle to his children- he truly took much pride in watching his children raise animals and compete at L.I.F.E. downs. When in high school, he also took pride in assisting his parents at their family-owned store, known as Suarez Meat Market. He pursued a business degree then went on to become an educator. After several years, he moved on to work with his brothers at their family-owned trucking company; he remained working there for over 20 years. He then went on to assist his wife in establishing their locally owned learning center, The Learning Patch Academy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alberto Suarez and Lorenza Ofelia Suarez; nephew, Mario Suarez, Jr.; father-in-law, Raul Peña; and brother-in-law, Raul Peña, Jr.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 33 years of marriage, Thelma Peña Suarez; children, Alberto Suarez, III, Kristina (Julio) Del Bosque, and Alfredo Noel Suarez; and by his siblings, Odilia (Manuel) Bustamante, Roberto (Rosaura) Suarez, Ramon (Elisabeth) Suarez, Mario Suarez, Herculano (Sonia) Suarez, Lourdes Suarez, Vilma Suarez, and half-sister, Yuliza Suarez. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Maria Del Rosario Peña; and brother and sisters-in-law, Edna (Luis) Cortes, Omar (Raquel) Peña, Leonel Peña, and Grethel (Ruben) Perez; as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, other loved relatives and friends.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions and our social responsibility to our friends and extended family, we are asking that everyone attending the visitation please wear a face mask and practice the social distancing of 6 feet.
