Jesus Silva, Jr., 74, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Thursday, April 14, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his one and only son, baby Jesus Silva III, parents, Jesus R. Silva and Anita A. Silva, brother, Dagoberto Silva, sisters, Teodora Schooley, Guillermina Flores, Maria Juana Ramirez, and in-laws, Jose Angel Mata and Gudelia Mata.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Maria Isabel “Isa” Mata Silva, his five daughters Dora Alicia “Doris” Silva (Albert Stock), Cynthia “Cindy” Silva, Isabel Cristina “Cristy” (Eddie) Lozano, Ana Gudelia “Guvy” (Ruben) Silva Ruiz, Monica Raquel (Ramon) Farias and nine grandchildren, Eddie III (Ruby), Jesse (Julie), Michael Angelo, Jesabel, Gaby, Ruben III, Joel, Mia and Laura; Sisters Lydia (Juan) Flores and Ana Maria (Jorge) Nieto; Sister-in-law, Lourdes (David) Patterson; and Brothers-in-Law, Jose (Veronica) Mata and Juan Antonio (Melinda) Mata and numerous nephews and nieces. Plus fur babies: Sofie, Tinker, Belle, Holly and Ollie.

Mr. Silva attended Martin High School (Class of 1968) before volunteering to serve in the US Army. He was a Vietnam Veteran where he served as a radio lineman and wireman from 1966 to 1969.  He was decorated with National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Four Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and Rifle Sharpshooter.

“Mr. Iso”, as he was lovingly called by Father Frank Leon, OSA, was a proud member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church where he was active with church projects and fundraisers. He was also a member of the English Mass Choir, Santa Cecilia Latin Choir, Special Events Committee and a volunteer of the CCD Program.

Sir Knight Mr. Silva was a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus #14100 and served as Recorder/Secretary.

He was a devoted Christian son, husband, father, grandfather, godfather, brother, uncle, friend and role model. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. He loved and he was loved. “To love another person is to see the face of God.”

The family will be receiving condolences on Tuesday evening, April 19, 2022 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday morning, April 20, 2022, departing at 10:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Eddie Lozano, Jr., Ramon Farias, Ruben Ruiz, Albert Stock, Eddie Lozano III, Jesse Lozano, Michael Angelo Silva Ruiz and Johnny Flores.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Ruben Villarreal, III, J.T. Villarreal, David “Choc” Patterson, Tony Mata, Louie Sanchez, Ricky Flores and Juan Hernandez.

The family would like to extend their most heartfelt gratitude to: Dr. Ricardo Cigarroa, Jamy Josey, NP, Felipe Vaquera, FNP-BC and staff; Dr. Benson Yu Huang and staff; Laredo Specialty and Rehabilitation Nurses, LMC ICU and Comfort Care Nurses.
