Traditional Funeral (Evening Wake/Morning Funeral)
A traditional funeral consists of the services of funeral director and staff, embalming, dressing/casketing, 5 hour visitation time in chapel during evening, including necessary time the following morning before the service, use of necessary vehicles, use of Oak Ceremonial Casket, casket flower spray, register book, prayer cards, thank you cards, clergy, newspaper, motor escorts, crematory clearance, crematory fee and death certificate.
With this type of service, it is common for the family to have a private hour in which they can freely express their sorrow with close family before the general public arrives. You receive friends in one of our chapels throughout the period. Those wishing a religious service such as a prayer service or rosary normally have it during the middle of the visiting period prior to leaving for the night.
The following morning we gather at the funeral home and depart to the Church or Temple if there will be a religious ceremony outside the funeral home. After the religious ceremony, the public is thanked and dismissed from the place of service. Our staff accompanies the deceased to the crematory for the cremation process.
In the cases where the religious ceremony will occur in our chapel, we simply courteously thank and dismiss everyone from our chapel, while our staff accompanies the deceased to the crematory.
